i popped down my internal scrappie as well as exchanged dual passed batteries weighing 27kgs for the £5 i would have approaching £10 for both …anyone?
you was lucky that scrap value is up at the moment, a few months ago you wouldn’t have got anything for them. and you have been given the right amount for two batterys.
In USA, we have to pay to get rid of them.
In some cases we do pay to get rid of them in the USA, but I know of some people getting $2.00 to $3.00 US dollars from the proper recycling outfit.
IN USA they usually take them when you buy one are charge you $5.00-8.00 dollars for a core
I get £2 – £5 a time depending on who’s buying them
the value has gone up recently, the BBC reported last week that bulk loads of scrap batteries are being stolen from workshops
none to you if the battery is done
Car batteries contain dangerous materials. For one, they are made with lead, and that’s the valuable part. The other part is the water/acid (electrolyte) solution. It is MUCH heavier than water and makes up the bulk of the battery’s weight.
As for value, it would be based on the amount of lead present.
In the US we pay to see that they are disposed of correctly.
well i know that the advance store gives you like $5.00 a battery
Right now you can take a old used up battery to a scrap/recycling yard for $8.
